Make Do and Mend

About

Make Do and Mend is a boutique for vintage lovers and fashion trailblazers. Sarah Robins, the owner, sells unique, affordable and trend-led vintage clothing and accessories from her shop in Pop Brixton.

I designed Make Do and Mend’s logo, which can be seen as a vinyl sticker on the shop window and on a light box. Originally a hand-drawn, hand-lettered logo encompassing the full title of Sarah’s shop, it has since been refined to just a fabric scissors monogram. This progression charts Sarah’s own journey from vintage street market to fully-functioning shop in the heart of Brixton. The original logo is still used as a stamp on labels and bags.

I’ve also designed their business cards, labels, and flyers, promoting the various events Sarah organises.

Some of my designs for Make Do and Mend feature original patterns by surface pattern designer and illustrator Natasha Kirby. Her unique painting technique and floral patterns nicely complement Make Do and Mend’s focus on vintage fashion.
